Carlos Alcaraz has fought back against Jannik Sinner to take the men’s

 

singles final into a fourth set tiebreak at the 2025 French Open in Paris today.

 

Alcaraz drew an early advantage but world No. 1 Sinner hit back to take the opener 6-4 and again to force an early break in the second, before the Italian eventually won the tiebreak to go within a set of the title.

Alcaraz had the early momentum in the first set but unforced errors crept into his game after he got the first break and Jannik sinner was dominant after that. The Italian won the first set 6-4 and broke Alcaraz straightaway in the second. He eventually raced to a 3-0 lead in the second set before Alcaraz finally broke his run.

We have a potential blockbuster in our hands as Carlos Alcaraz faces Jannik Sinner in the final of the 2025 French Open. These two are the current top guns in men’s tennis and yet, this is the first time they are facing each other in the final of a Grand Slam. Alcaraz is chasing his fifth Major title, and a second consecutive one at Roland Garros. Sinner, on the other hand, is chasing his fourth, and a third consecutive Grand Slam title, having won the Australian Open earlier this year and the 2024 US Open.

Sinner is currently World No.1, Alcarrazas World No.2 – this is literally a clash of the two best players in the world. The former has won 18 consecutive sets, dropping serve only twice, and often dispatching opponents with such ease that they celebrate just for winning one game. On the other hand, Alcaraz has won each of his last four matches against the Italian. Sinner’s play from the back of the court has been too much to handle for everyone, including the legendary Novak Djokovic whom he beat in the semi-final. However, Alcaraz’s arguably superior forehand has helped him that very aspect of Sinner’s play in the
